Guides to Permissible 501(C)3 & 501(C)4 Election-Related Activities
With the election season already underway, many people and organizations have started voter registration drives, public education campaigns around key issues, and support or opposition for candidates.
Three one-page publications available from the Alliance for Justice explain nonprofit engagement in election-related activities that fall within current law:
- Permissible Election Activities Checklist for 501(c)(3)s
- Election Activities of Individuals Associated with 501(c)(3) Organizations
- Election Year Activities for 501(c)(4) Social Welfare Organizations
Each one-pager serves as an introduction to the issues involved, and opportunities available for organizations to engage in election-related activities. More in-depth publications and services are also available from the Alliance for Justice.
