*What's New*
The League of Conservation Voters has released a useful guide for those looking to harness the power of their membership as a force for change. The Mobilize Your Member's tool kit is a clear step-by-step guide on how to maximize the power of your members through effectively using your membership lists.

*Current Poll*
Since it's still warm out, our end of summer poll on district office visits is still open. We ask if you've ever visited a member of Congress at their district office during a congressional recess, such as the one this past month. Stop by and vote in our poll, continuously displayed on the right side of the site. Just don't try to vote twice.
Here's your chance to ask a question you've wanted to ask other nonprofits, but couldn't figure out how. Send your idea for a poll to npaction@npaction.org.

*Featured Article*
While charities are not allowed to participate in any partisan electioneering, they can still help the election process by helping their members and constituents register to vote. If you or your organization would like to do any registration, time is running out, as most states limit registration within 30 days of an election. This issue's featured article gives you a quick primer to help you register voters as soon as possible.

*Featured Resource Link*
The NPAction Resource Links Directory is a human-edited compendium of tools and references, contributed by nonprofits for nonprofits.
For many people, all the web sites and books on advocacy for nonprofits can't replace a good class or seminar. Check out the National Voice's searchable calendar for all different kinds of training for those interested in advocacy and policymaking.

*"Steal This Code": Put NPAction on Your Site*
NPAction invites organizations to share our tools on their websites. Choose a logo that best meets your needs, whether you want to link to our site, incorporate our search engine with results from a range of nonprofit sources, add the ability to connect to federal lawmakers and national media, or state-level policymakers and media. Just copy the HTML code from our site, and you're ready to go (but when you steal the code, just let us know!).
