*What's New*
Election day is rapidly bearing down on us, and there are some last minute trainings on voter mobilization and legal rules for nonprofits can and can't do in an election training.
The Center for Progressive Leadership is sponsoring October trainings on voter mobilization in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Pittsburg and Phoenix.

The Alliance for Justice is holding an online training on the legalities of nonprofit advocacy in an election season.

*Current Poll*
Last month we asked if you've ever visited a member of Congress in their district office. 35% of you have, 47% haven't and 18% pleaded ignorance that your members even have district offices.
This month, we ask if your organization is working with voters, either through registering voters, printing voter guides, or mobilizing voters. Vote in this month's poll, continuously displayed on the right hand side of the site (just don't try to vote twice!!)
Here's your chance to ask a question you've wanted to ask other nonprofits, but couldn't figure out how. Send your idea for a poll to npaction@npaction.org.

*Featured Article*
This issue's featured article is actually a collection of examples of ways that nonprofits can help with elections. From a database to help groups find areas with a high percentage of unregistered voters, to a collection of voters' rights cards that voters can take to the polling places with them, this is a showcase of innovative ways that nonprofits can help this year's Presidential election run more smoothly than the last one.

The NPAction Resource Links Directory is a human-edited compendium of tools and references, contributed by nonprofits for nonprofits.
Everybody know the power of a good event to get your message out, but the expense and planning of an event can be overwhelming, especially if it would attract a geographically diverse audience. In the online era, groups have the option of holding online events, which can be done with minimal expense, and no travel time. This issue's link gives a general overview to conceiving and pulling off an online event.

*"Steal This Code": Put NPAction on Your Site*
NPAction invites organizations to share our tools on their websites. Choose a logo that best meets your needs, whether you want to link to our site, incorporate our search engine with results from a range of nonprofit sources, add the ability to connect to federal lawmakers and national media, or state-level policymakers and media. Just copy the HTML code from our site, and you're ready to go (but when you steal the code, just let us know!).
